Job Description:

Ocean Tomo’s Valuation practice offers companies professional valuation support solutions for a variety of needs including formal valuation opinions for financial reporting, acquisitions, divestitures, corporate reorganization, and litigation support. We are seeking a Valuation Director to join us in the San Francisco office. The Director will work closely with Managing Directors focusing on client management, developing new business opportunities, management of valuation engagements, and training and development of Associates and Analysts.


  • Identifying and converting new business opportunities
  • Focusing on practice development efforts for the valuation practice area
  • Synthesizing and applying multiple valuation methodologies
  • Managing large projects profitably and exceeding client’s expectations
  • Leading market, industry, company, technology and royalty rate research performed by Associates and Analysts
  • Leading meetings with clients to collect information for reports and analyses
  • Directing Associate and Analyst efforts in preparing models, reports and other activities
  • Training Associates and Analysts on technical valuation concepts
  • Conceptualizing and reviewing financial models
  • Managing complex assignments from concept through delivery

Experience and Skills:


  • BS/BA in finance, accounting, business or economics with an advanced certification (CPA/CFA/ASA/MBA) and/or relevant master’s degree
  • 10 years of experience with valuation or corporate finance engagements in a consulting environment
  • Distinguished academic achievement
  • Proven ability to generate new business opportunities
  • "Roll-up your sleeves" attitude with regard to completing client engagements
  • Established reputation for high-level of professional expertise
  • Attention to detail and quality control
  • Proficiency with MS Word and Excel
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid analytical skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment are essential
